Morocco's Restaurant in Downtown San Jose

Image
Very few places start with a mother's care. From what I remember, she was at most very pleasant. She even invited me to visit them in Morocco and I also shared the pleasure of driving them to their hotel room when visiting their 2 son's in San Jose. For Jay and Sham, I can only hope that they focus on bringing their culture to San Jose. Located just at the end of Market street, these 2 Bro's share the passion and business for food  just as their parent's do. Their local business supports the arts of San Jose with Live Dancers and Live Musicians. They also share the respect of paying their employee's their last paycheck I also very much hated working here, but when I did, I gave it my all. These 2 men share a passion of bringing culinary arts and live local music to a city that is in much need. I shot all these videos and edited them not for profit, but the fact more of this is needed in San Jose. So please, enjoy some wine and delicious food from their Mother&

Keep Change happening

What is it about bicycling that is so infectious? Is it the battle vs. large corporation? Maybe it’s battling the stereotype that Americans are all fat? Whatever it is, it fills a greater purpose than any drug could give. To know that I’m battling long-run health problems, such as, having a stroke early in life and type-2 diabetes, all I can say is, “Keep giving me the miles and the strength to go further. “ For what it is, I don’t have any medical facts to back any of this up. To be honest, I never even went to graduate school, but for whatever it may be, when I hop on my purple Giant, I’m embraced with this fulfillment of accomplishment. As if somehow I’ve served some sort of purpose in helping keep the earth just okay for a little bit longer, keeping my health in check and gosh darn it, sticking the middle finger straight up to oil companies. I laugh every time I roll through every gas station. Something inside my head tells me that riding a bicycle is better than driving

DBD his Damn Self-help mixtape

Image
Embracing the culture of Hip-hop, Dirtbag Dan has begun to embrace the City in which he lives in. His newly featured music video of his just recently released Self-Help single CD proves just that point. What are we seeing inside the world of music has been strengthen by the Hand of Daniel Martinez. What respect does one man deserve to solely strap the city of San Jose on his back and carry it across the seas and embrace the city that made him strong enough to face the world. We as his people should stand behind him and realize just what history has been inscribed forever in our history books. This isn’t some pre-written before Jesus type of material, this is in the making as of now. If you consider yourself to be a part of San Jose, give this man respect and support his art.

Starving Musician

Image
A new location just settled for Starving Musician just off Stevens Creek located near Guitar Center. Started by 2 guys and just only 2 other locations in the Bay Area, this place is literary what the name states, “Starving Musicians.” I would consider this to be a “Mom & Pop” sort of store, not only are their prices thrift shop worthy, they also give more bang for your buck on trade-ins.  Walking in, the vibe of this place is uber chill with its relax setting and you get this vibe from the employees that this isn’t just a 9-5, but a passion of theirs.  A friend of mine Luke was in need of an amp for his keyboards. So we called Guitar Center and asked what the cost would be. The lady on the line said, “Let me get someone.” This guy came on the phone and said, “$300.”  My buddy Luke said he heard about this place called, “Starving Musicians” and gave it a chance. The dude on the other line said, “$150.” We were like chill, let’s head over. The store is located at an old

Electronics for Recycling

Image
San Jose is becoming ever more hip with the help of POCO SOLO ENERGY INC. and ALL GREEN ELECTRONICS RECYCLING. They are encouraging everyone with old gear to head down tomorrow and properly discard any old or un-salvageable electronics. Like their page and show we care to go green, loving our planet is never out of style. Not only will you be able to recycle old electronics, they will be providing information on solar technology. San Jose is EPIC on so many levels for taking charge in environmental concern. http://www.pocosolar.com http://www.facebook.com/pocosolar?sk=wall is POCO SOLO ENERGY INC. ESSJ Rides

Image
On the brighter side of the interweb, I’ve noticed a continued occurrence speaking to parents of small bicyclist; they all seem happy seeing their child going outside venturing out into the real world. What is it that makes them so happy? I’ve come to the conclusion that our youth are learning new ways of survival. With global conflict being as it is, we sit and face the daily occurrence that we forget to remember the youth, but some very few members of our community go as far as a man by the name of Justin. This guy single handedly laid down the tar for the members of San Jose’s infamous East Side San Jose. Whenever my bicycle isn’t stolen, I make sure to ride in ESSJ ride as often as I can.  I understand how fun downtown is to ride, the buildings, touching the sides of buses and weaving between traffic is nice, but the concrete jungle of the east is much more special. The roads are stretched with longer distances between stoplights, streets average 2-4 lanes each direction, an

Backyard Wrestling

Image
Is wrestling becoming a lost art? I believe the answer to be, “No!” Once a month, there is a spectacle witnessed by few, but even played out by fewer. These are considered the Gladiators of our time. I’ve always considered backyard wrestling to be one of “them” Country folk’s types of thing. In fact, I believe we all need a little country in us. What more in life would be expected; women wrestling in milk enjoying un-limited $5 red cup refills, someone call God and tell him I’ve already reached heaven. So, the back story from the grapevine begins like so. There were these 2 ex-pro wrestlers that installed a ring in their backyard. As it continues, some kids came along asking for lessons. Who knows what the next following years will become for them, only time will tell.  Aside from that, enjoying women grinding for prestige along with bottomless cups of beer, this hands down was one of my greatest summers. Backyard wrestling has carried a stigma of being non city folk. I b

Community Bicycling

Image
Progressive changes are being made though bicycling inside our community. People are noticing that a healthy lifestyle brings sex appeal. San Jose as whole is becoming persuaded with living a healthy, sexy, more cost-efficient lifestyle. Just subtract the cost of driving. You have oil changes, tire rotations, gas, and auto insurance. All of these cost are putting a strain on our local economy and filling the pockets of oil and auto tycoons. San Jose’s monthly bike party shows just how creative our minds really are. Having been on just a few so far, along with 3,000+ members of our community, you begin to see just how change is made. Bicycling emerges you into this rising sub-culture that is classy and artsy. You begin seeing the city from the perspective as a worker ant, rather than, the kid staring down from up above. It shows how to no longer be dependent on foreign and domestic oil. Whether bicycling is just a hobby or a lifestyle, style is threaded along the seams of our jeans.
