Had I Not by Ramon Leon Rivera

Had I not been first born and put in a position to lead by example, I may have chosen to pursue my dreams. Had I not grown up around drug dealers and users, I may have been living clean. Had I not grown around flea markets, thrift shopping might have been a scene. Had I not grown around artist and musicians, music and art may have never been my thing. Thank god all these things happened to me, and bless every one I came to meet.

My Love for Wine by Ramon Leon Rivera

Image
Love has turn barrels embodied with potential, into nothing more than old rotten caskets wasting away each day after the next. Vivid memories of dark sky’s full bloomed into bright star kisses, have begun to be nothing more than torn pictures spread throughout the city. At one point in time, there filled a liquid in my ceramic encased heart that would pump a very real element that had limitless half-life. As the next hammer begins to pick up where the last one had dropped, one must remember the beating the last one had given.

Generations of misunderstanding.

Generations of misunderstanding.  By Ramon There may be a man who sits next to you as a child. For reasons unknown, he speaks with no clear direction. What could a man have seen, that would want him to stay as a child. There sits a man, who’s seen the world turn from the brightest of bright, turn to the onyx of blackness.  There sits a man, who plays a game with rules constantly being reformed to the advantage of others. There sits a man, who refuses to sit and watch people continually abuse the beauty of life. Once a child reaches the state of being a man and learns the cruel intentions others play on each other for the sake of the next prestige of corporate advancement, the game of life may seem less corrupted if he reverts to quality of living as he remembers growing up. Everyone is seeking to find happiness in a country that was built on the tears and pain of all who knew too well just how cruel this game of life could be. The history written an...

The Strength in the hands of MEN vs. The Strength in the hands of WOMEN

The Strength in the hands of MEN vs. The Strength in the hands of WOMEN  by Ramon  The strength in the hands of men, are capable of turning the brightest of bright into the darkest of dark. The strength in the hands of men, are capable of bringing shelter to where there is none. The strength in the hands of men, are capable of sheathing warmth from decay. The strength in the hands of men, are capable of lifting their world from the lowest of depths to the highest of heights. The strength in the hands of men, are what create movement without direction. The strength in the hands of women, are what will the hands of men to their direction. The apexes men are capable of have no purpose without the will of women to lead.  Men are not leaders, we are creatures of strength. We harvest our earth from which the grounds we are bonded with, to cultivate the need for reason we need not know. The hardships of life are in no comparison once you realize the joys of ...

"Addiction" from Ramon Leon Rivera

ADDICTION Addiction Addiction, I’ve seen best friends spit blood by rubbing their gums. Love turn to lust and humanity turn to insanity. My streets run with my own people scamming their old elementary classmates just to go purchase a new pair of sneaks. Everyone seems to have forgotten who they once were, because the ones who were suppose to be fathers forgot what their own parents had taught them. The foolish thoughts of a quick buck has done more damage to the people I remember in my memories than who the front runner for the next presidential candidate is going to be. Dreams are no longer anything respectable anymore, dreams consist of new phones or new products made from people who choose to poison the people who feed their families. Police don’t protect the streets; we’re just numbers to them in their checking account. Addiction comes in any form that allows its user to escape the reality of what lies when they step out the front door. Our youth, are constantly plugged into t...
