Johnny V, My Thoughts

Johnny V’s over at downtown is a place for anyone interested in gaining real life experience for anyone looking to drop 8 bars on their open Mics. Open Mics are rare to come by here in San Jose. It’s even rarer for groups’ reactions right then and there that show both positive and negative reactions.

At the moment, places like BJs are targeting “Sports Bar” themes, Clubhouse is hiring live DJs, but Johnny V is the place to see local talent or even if you’ve ever consider the thought of going on America’s Got Talent. Right now, The Usual’s, are the one who should be considered top dog for giving local talent the chance for live performances, MACLA use to hold it down until the whole underage drinking sort of shut the place down. Whatever shit happens, but Johnny V is the place for the “Older” crowd who knows how to order a Gin & Tonic wants to go.

If sipping Beers on the sidewalk isn’t really your thing, show some love over at Johnny V where you can play some Street Fighter on the Playstation; thought I didn’t know about that during happy hour. It’s right off Santa Clara down a block or 2 from the light rail transit and you always have the 23 or 25 that shoots you down further, so driving isn’t necessary anymore. Original bars are hard to find out here, especially close to public transportation. Thank the Heavens to the people out in Johnny V and for the people out taking time to give local talent a chance for some real life performances and not just thinking what the people on the youtube commentary care about. Nothing beats the realness of a hand shake, having a beer, or even bringing some food and chowing down on some Shrimp-Pill Pill and talking about the future of San Jose.

I love coming to this bar for the damn "realness" it perceives. The bartenders are always up for any conversation and don't act fake to anyone that comes in the door. Now that is a gem in itself.

Big Thanks to Andrew "AudioDRU" Moyco for helping raise awareness to the public in San Jose.
